Jimmy Choo branded accessories, shoes and bags are able to transform a plain look into something unique and luxurious, thanks to their distinct and classy style.

Best known for its production of women's shoes, the London-based brand created by Malaysian designer Jimmy Choo Jeang Keat became famous in the late 1980s thanks to Lady D and Vogue magazine.

The origins of the brand are due to the creations of Jimmy Choo, a Malaysian designer, born in Penang in 1948 and soon moved to London. Here he graduated from Cordwainers' Technical College in 1983 and began his career in the fashion world. Style and fashion have always been in his blood since birth. In fact, born into a family of shoe manufacturers, he made his first pair of shoes when he was only 11 years old, marking the beginning of what was destined to be his future.

In 1986, he opened his first business headquarters in an old disused hospital in London. Only two years later, he was noticed by none other than Lady Diana Spencer, Princess of Wales and wife of Prince Charles, who, by wearing his shoes, helped the designer's fame to grow, thus helping his creations to become trendy.

Also in 1988, the fashion magazine Vogue dedicated a long article to him, definitively sealing the success of the Jimmy Choo brand. From that moment on, every woman wants to have at least one pair in her shoe closet.

A small change in the brand's management took place in 2001, when Jimmy Choo sold half of the company for USD 10 million and concentrated his creativity on haute couture productions, while the brand's ready-to-wear business was left in the hands of Tamara and Sandra Choi, Jimmy's wife's niece.

Meanwhile, production, originally dedicated to women's shoes, was extended to men's shoes and other accessories, such as handbags, sunglasses, scarves, belts and hats.

In 2017, the company was bought by Michael Kors' multinational Capri Holdings Limited for £896 million
